Privacy Policy

1. Data we collect

• Contact form: your name, email address, optional phone number, enquiry category and message.
• Switch requests: your name, email, phone, supply address, current and chosen supplier, tariff and whether you have a smart meter.
• Price-alert newsletter and AI advisor waitlist: your email address and any goal or question you give us.
• Supplier reviews: the name you choose to display, your rating, review title and text.
• Tool usage: postcodes and searches entered into our calculators and search bar, and questions sent to the AI energy advisor. Please do not include personal details in these.
• Technical data: page visits, anonymous page-speed measurements and, only if you accept analytics cookies, data collected by Google Analytics or Meta Pixel.

2. Why we use it and our lawful basis

• To answer your enquiry or switch request — steps you asked us to take before entering a contract, or our legitimate interest in responding to you.
• To send price alerts or launch updates you signed up for — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
• To publish supplier reviews you submit, after moderation — your consent.
• To run, secure and improve the website (including spam and abuse prevention) — our legitimate interests.
• Analytics and marketing cookies — your consent via the cookie banner.

3. Who we share it with

We never sell your personal data. We use these service providers, who process data on our behalf:

• Cloudflare — website hosting, security and data storage.
• Resend — sending confirmation and notification emails.
• Google (Gemini API) — generating answers in the AI energy advisor from the question you type.
• Google Analytics and Meta — only if you accept optional cookies.

4. International transfers

Some providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, transfers are protected by UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent safeguards.

5. How long we keep it

• Enquiries and switch requests: up to 24 months, then deleted.
• Newsletter and waitlist: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
• Reviews: while published, or until you ask us to remove them.
• Search, postcode and AI advisor logs: kept on a rolling basis (only the most recent entries are stored).

6. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email [email protected]. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

7. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
